This is the thing, I went to Stanford and am always psyched for a cool new T-shirt, sweatshirt, etc. That being said, is it just me, or does it seem incredibly lame to buy a university shirt, not from your alma mater, but from Chip & Pepper? Granted, I appreciate the slimmer fit and the heather gray options, but for $63 (for women) and $72 (for men)? I don’t think so. Chip and Pepper does skew very, very young though, a la Abercrombie & Fitch, but more expensive. In my experience, C&P’s stuff fits like crap. I went to a sample sale once and tried on about twenty pairs of jeans and each looked worse than the last. I’m not a skinny-mini, but usually a size 4 or 28, and generally don’t have that much trouble fitting jeans. I did, however, leave that day with a very soft navy T-shirt, marijuana leaves subtly printed across the chest, that I quite like.
If you want to shell out for one of these fake-ass shirts though, now is the time: in conjunction with March Madness, C&P’s offering 15% off its merch through April 2nd by entering “MARCH” at checkout.
