Cake Jewelry on Melrose has sales pretty frequently, so its sale March 31st and April 1st (up to 50% off its sterling silver collection and 15% off 18kt gold) isn’t what piqued my interest. What got me was the “massive” Un Apres Midi de Chien sale going on at the same time. Sadly, Cake will not longer be carrying the French handbag line - a jaunty mix of nylon and leather in an array of neutrals, plus an ever-changing Popsicle palette. In response to the astronomical designer handbag prices these days, I am particularly appreciative of the fact that it’s hard to find an Un Apres Midi de Chien for over $200.
