Events: Weekend Treats from Pegah Anvarian, Michelle Mason, DVF + Kale

April 19th, 2007 · No Comments

I find it very difficult to pay full-price at Barneys when I know there will be opportunities like this collection of weekend events - my top picks - to lighten, rather than ravage, your bank account. Or, in the case of Pegah Anvarian at Des Kohan, it’s a chance to access exclusive spring/summer pieces made just for the boutique and only available Saturday. Also at Des Kohan, check out sure-to-be-killer selections just-in from Victor & Rolf, Hussein Chalayan, Juan Carlos Obando, Flowers of Romance, Vena Cava, Ritsuko Shirahama, Carmen Ho shoes, Bare Jewelry, and more.

Michelle Mason, need I say more? Impeccably tailored and finished with avant-garde touches. Gorgeous fabrications. Go.

Since my parents bought me a DVF dress in a saturated green print in my early-20s, I have been obsessed with the flattering effect of these magical wrappers. Thank you in advance, Billion Dollar Babes.

This is the deal with the Kale event: it’s in Pasadena. Not a whole lot gets me out to Pasadena (3795 Shadow Grove Road; 626-357-2200), but I would haul my cookies out there for up to 50% below retail for Kale’s spring offerings - a collection of soft shapes with structure, some in contrasting hues like ivory and moss or mustard. Even at half-off, you can still expect to drop $200-$300, but, hey, it’s still better than shelling out the cost of a used car. Music and lemonade to accompany, plus a look at fall ‘07. Shopping begins at 10AM.
