Favorite Furniture Store, Denmark 50

May 17th, 2007 · 1 Comment

Someone commented how much he/she loved the chair shown in the Broken English post, and wanted to know any suggestions for furniture stores in the neighborhood. For me, Denmark 50 on Melrose, a block and a half west of Fairfax, is hands-down the best furniture store around. It’s chock-full with mid-century modern Danish fare - from credenzas and chairs, tables and sofas, to a whole host of ceramics. Though definitely not thrift store prices, it’s not totally astronomical either. If you have a few hundred dollars, you can find something amazing, especially if you stop by frequently as there are always new shipments. And if I won the lottery, it’s the first place I’d go to furnish my new abode.
