High Rise: April 77 Is Not F*cking Around

Nine-inch rise? Tuh! French label April 77 spits on your so-called high-waisted jeans. The Marky in Overdrive 1955 jean ($150, Azalea Online) rests at a lofty 11 inches at the front and 14 1/2 inches at the back. Clearly skinny-skinny, made with raw stretch denim, these are made for femmes with hips who want to show them off. I appreciate the simplicity, the classic dark wash, the lack of embellishment - what you’d expect from the endlessly chic French.
