Patrick Robinson is Target’s current Go International designer, which I blogged about earlier this month; now the Paco Rabanne designer has been plucked by Gap to head up Gap Adult and GapBody effective today, as reported by FWD.
Gap is really trying to up its fashion ante: first with the CFDA/Vogue partnership, in which the winners - namely Doo.Ri, Thakoon, and Rodarte - created limited-edition white shirts; now, Robinson.
Well, I have to say, it works. I will have to see what Robinson does for Gap. The CFDA/Vogue collection was a shot in the arm, but it could use a full-on resuscitation.
