BLACKBURN AND SWEETZER

I love coffee, and, frankly, I don’t feel bad about my caffeine intake. As far as vices go, it doesn’t even count in my book. Even so, The Healthy Bean coffee shop - which opens Friday, June 1st at 8470 Santa Monica, just east of La Cienega - has piqued my interest with its antioxidant-filled, organic and Fair-Trade certified coffee. I just wish it was even closer to me - 1 1/2 miles starts feeling like a trek with a laptop. Hm, will there be wireless? Will it feel like a real live cozy coffee shop rather than the corporate confections a la Starbucks and Coffee Bean? Is a great coffee house is walking distance too much to ask for?
