What the f*ck? Does Harper Collins think that readers have collective memory loss? Jonathan Safran Foer’s Everything Is Illuminated came out in this paperback edition in 2003 by HP (the hardcover in 2002 by Houghton Mifflin with the same cover art but in black and white); HP just put out Lizzie Post’s How Do You Work This Life Thing? - her claim to fame being that she’s the great-great-granddaughter of etiquette queen Emily Post, which is plastered on every piece of marketing out there - in April 2007. Is HP trying to trick up into thinking the peppy life guide is somehow serious literature akin to JSF’s? Did someone make a major cover art snafu? Or, does HP figure, no one’s reading these days anyway, who’s gonna notice, someone random blogger?
