Event: Yo! What Happened to Peace?

July 26th, 2007 · No Comments

Saturday, July 28th (7:00PM-midnight) at The Continental Gallery downtown (408 South Spring Street), get informed and snag a sweet new poster at ‘Yo! What Happened to Peace?’, a touring group show of pro-peace, anti-war, and anti-occupation posters that’s been turned into a book. This event marks the book’s L.A. premiere. Expect dialogue regarding the current U.S. occupations in Iraq and Afghanistan from CodePink, Iraq Veterans Against The War and Axis of Justice reps, along with Yo! Artists Chaz Bojorquez, Favianna Rodriguez and Mark Vallen; ‘Yo!’ show curator John Carr will moderate. Downtown L.A.’s Hard Pressed Studios will churn out live screenprinted peace posters. VJ Michael Allen will provide visual stimulation. DJ Oliver Knight and The Gaslamp Killer will provide the sounds. Mear One and Overton Lloyd will come with live renegade art. Cash only for books and posters. RSVP at rsvp@emprds.com.
