BLACKBURN AND SWEETZER

As you’ve probably gathered, I don’t post much celebrity shit. I really try to avoid the tab stuff for the most part. That, and the whole photo rights things. Prada bought the rights to the WENN image, so I’m in the clear (by the way, Matt Damon’s wearing a khaki cotton suit from Prada’s spring/summer ‘07 collection and a Prada white button-down in the pic).

So, why post it? I just really think he’s talented and underrated. I think part of it is because he has very quietly, without a lot of fuss, become a big star at the box office with the whole Bourne series. I was kind of annoyed by the recent GQ cover story on him, which spent half the article talking about how Damon doesn’t talk about personal shit. Meanwhile, Damon has interesting ideas and opinions about virtually everything else that I would very much like to read about.

FYI to GQ, I don’t have to read about his daughter and fatherhood and how he met his wife, so don’t bother writing 2,000 words about all the things he won’t talk about. And I don’t fault the writer either. This is what we’ve been reduced to with the tabs. This is what editors want or think has to make up the content of its celeb stories.

So, I guess this is my shout-out to Matt Damon. I like what you’re doing. You’ve made good choices. And I have to agree on the whole privacy issue - part of the reason why I like you so much is because you’ve never given me a reason to hate you.
