3rd Street Stroll Wrap Up

July 31st, 2007 · 3 Comments

So, I’m happy to report that people really came out for the 3rd Street Summer Stroll last Thursday night. I’m sure some people would disagree, but I think it would be awesome if there was that much foot traffic on 3rd all of the time. It was great to have that kind of urban energy with people and boutiques and shops and restaurants bustling into the night. Everyone took a different course, but here’s some glimpses of mine.

Me and the husband started off at Aero & Co. to chat with L.A. fashion force and boutique owner Alisa Loftin and check out the ANKH by Racquel Jewelry Collection, which I absolutely loved. I will have more on this line in a separate post soon, but designer and stylist Racquel Honore is definitely doing her own thing and not trying to break your bank at the same time.

White hot layers from ANKH.

A web of chains from ANKH.

Luckily, they don’t sell babies at Puppies & Babies, but they do sell adorable puppies… in a crib.

OK, we didn’t even go into Noodle Stories, but we did have some amazing gelato outside.

These skinny graphic ties at All Purpose were on sale for only $25!

Fantastic line Onela at All Purpose gives men ample choices beyond the basic briefcase.

I don’t have images, but we dropped by Joan’s on Third for what will be their new house white wine (mild, tasty, not sweet), truffle-topped focaccia, and a wedge of brownie - all to the Joan’s on Third delicious standard. Joan said the expansion will open in a couple weeks. We went on and chatted with Hillary Rush and stopped by Petro Zillia to find out they were tapped out of that pretty pink vodka drink I kept seeing people with, but I appreciated the pretty drink nonetheless. Then it was on to Rodan vs. Griffith, which ended up being the end of our stroll because it was already around 9:00PM when we got there. Owners Carol (Rodan) and Chris (Griffith) were busy selling, pouring champagne and Pabst (uh, separately that is, not some scary bubbly and beer concoction), and being good hosts (i.e., they stayed open as long as their guests wanted to hang out).

The DJ.

Lots o’ people.

I think it was getting pretty late at this point. It was great to be able to walk home, or, rather, quite necessary, after the random mash of wine, champagne, Pabst, etc. etc. etc. We should do this at least once a month, don’t you think???

You were right it seem like a much bigger deal then the previous attempts.

    I loved the mariachi band.

My mother was in town from Washington State suburb and we walked in and out of my favorite stores then had dinner at Tesca.
