Travis Barker’s The Fast Life Opens on 3rd

August 3rd, 2007 · No Comments

Travis Barker has found a home for his Famous Stars and Straps clothing line at the corner of 3rd Street and Crescent Heights, where Paul Frank used to be. Fans of the street- and skateboard-inspired collection were lined up at the store’s opening on Wednesday, a young group of what looked like teens and early-20-somethings. When I popped in yesterday, Travis Barker was there in the flesh in what seems to be his usual gear - shirt, hat and lots of tats. The boutique itself is stark and steel with an iridescent tile that looks like many purple-y hued dimes and is actually quite pretty. The merch includes tees and hoodies, pants and hats, skate decks and watches - all logo-ed in some way with the FSAS ‘F’ or ‘The Wild Ones’ or ‘The Fast Life’. Most is men’s, which ranges from $35-$150, with a few tees and itty-bitty half-tees for women. I do have to say, the staff was all very nice and friendly, and one sales guy even walked across the store to open the door for me upon the urging of the manager. Even if I’m not the FSAS audience, I do appreciate the company is producing reasonably priced gear for its young customers.

Opening day mayhem.

The store.
