Dominique Cohen for Target Poolside Launch

This past Saturday was the launch of Dominique Cohen’s jewelry collection for Target, held poolside at the Sunset Tower Hotel with Rosario Dawson as celeb host. The designer’s usual gems run in the four and five digits, so her Target collection - hitting stores soon for fall and running from $14.99 for Black Bow Earrings to $59.99 for an Opera-Length Bead and Bronze Necklace - is a definite change of pace. The necklaces and earrings, rings and bracelets, were all laid out and strung about for guests to try on and fondle. To me, the bronze offerings won out over the black, but overall I would say Cohen’s jaunt from high-to-low is a success. The lace-covered beads, pearls, cameos, ribbon, and bronze come together for a vintage effect that is sometimes precious but maintains a fashion-y appeal.

Models lounged in one-pieces and Dominique Cohen jewels.

Guests hung out and sipped mimosas and ate small bites. Each left with a little something from the collection.

Guests swam as usual.

    Even a green girl wannabe like me is not immune to the Target magic. These people really know how to please their consumers. Libertine, now Daniel Cohen . . .
