BLACKBURN AND SWEETZER

The British just know how to do gorgeous, sexy lingerie - Coco de Mer on Melrose (originally born in London) being a case in point. Filled with lovely lingerie and equally impressive toys and other sweet things, I was very impressed. I was equally enthralled with the reason for the visit - a champagne-sugary treat event for Jimmy Jane and its latest Form 6 water-resistant massager ($175, jimmyjane.com). It’s sleekly designed with all surfaces usable for whatever you like, plus different pulses and even a memory of your last preference. This is a fantastic gift. Of course, there are the Jimmy Jane vibrators ($175 and more) in a pretty palette and the definition of streamlined, but there are also the soy candles ($48) in swoon-inducing fragrances (none too strong) that can be used as a massage oil (that doesn’t stain sheets!) and is, amazingly, not oily. The design of the candles is simple white with a spout for the pouring. Clearly, I was impressed. I love the demystification of sex toys, making it not reduced to a bridal shower goof or frat boy gag - this is for adults and should absolutely be a part of it if you so choose and want to invest the money.
