If you have never tried Chameau - that Moroccan-French spot on Fairfax, just north of Beverly, with the Camel silhouette as signage - I highly recommend it. The husband and I went last week and were pleasantly surprised by the modern, colorful decor (you’d never know by the dark exterior), the hearty, tasty food and […]

The Husband’s Buffalo Burger

OK, the husband came up with this and it was a very good idea. It’s a buffalo burger with a little bit of blue cheese wedged inside a pita. Delicious.

Bedazzled Parking Meter on Melrose
January 7th, 2008 · 5 Comments
OK, this took some effort. Someone encrusted this parking meter with all kinds of glitz on Melrose west of Fairfax. The husband and I were trying to guess how long someone stood there and pasted these things on - at least 1/2 an hour, an hour maybe? - and how high were they? The […]

Nigella With the Quickness
January 7th, 2008 · No Comments
We’re big Nigella fans here at B+S. Got this Nigella Express ($23.10, amazon.com) cookbook over the holidays and have already cracked it open a few times. Thus far, the recipes are pretty quick and simple, and, most importantly, delicious. I made Coq au Reisling one night, followed by Pear and Ginger Muffins. I highly recommend.

Clark Nova Old School Quaintness

Sweetzer Abode $1.5 Million
January 2nd, 2008 · 1 Comment
What do you get for $1.5 million (I’m sorry, $1,499,000) these days on Sweetzer? Here it is, lots of photos on Cummins Real Estate! It’s just north of Beverly at 359 North Sweetzer Avenue, and I can’t say it’s worth $1.5 - which is not to say I’d snub my nose at this 3 bedroom/2 […]
