Had heard from the managers at Weizhi that a custom fragrance boutique was opening up just east of Orlando on 3rd Street, but they didn’t know the name. Turns out it’s Le Labo Grasse - New York, which creates fragrances like Rose 31 and Jasmin 17 from Grasse, France - apparently, the ‘perfume capital.’ Not sure how the pricing goes once you start customizing, but the perfumes and interior scents start around $50 online, which seems pretty reasonable.

Tasha, I’m so excited to read that Le Labo is coming to our neighborhood. My sister gave me a gift certificate a year ago and I couldn’t stop wearing the Iris 39. And now I’m all out!

They don’t customize. They mix the ones that they have fresh when you order from them. They have several that are really good and not horribly expensive. Also, they usually do one city-specific scent that they will not sell outside of the store, not by phone or email. I can’t wait to see what they do for Los Angeles

This is a cool store. It’s a different experience. You get to see them actually make the perfume in front of you, and they have a bunch of whole ingredients and oils that you can sniff and learn about. The girl there showed me real Ambrette seeds and the pure oil extracted from them. It was cool, most places just try to sell you stuff, but here I actually learned something. If you’re into perfume, you definitely have to check it out. I didn’t really like the Iris that much though, maybe it’s just not my kind of scent. I love the Fluer D’oranger and the Ambrette. They are really different and really fresh.
