Something about the Media District sign at Highland and Melrose is very cartoonish to me.

Franklin Avenue, I’m not trying to bite your style on the License Plate column/posts, but I just had to take a picture. Oddly, no vanity plate though.

Melissa at Creatures of Comfort
March 30th, 2008 · No Comments
I now have four pairs of Melissa shoes—those shoes made out of rubber from Brazil—and wear them all the time. They’re reasonably price, very comfortable and even more adorable. The downside is that they do make your feet sweat, that’s why the sandal versions (rather than the enclosed flats that I have ) I think […]

Space Mermaid Crystal + Coral Necklace
March 28th, 2008 · No Comments
I’ve been following Space Mermaid designer Stephanie Carbone for some time, and it’s been really cool to watch her develop as designer. Of late, she’s been getting some great press (including in the recent Scarlett and Natalie W issue), which is fantastic. Mural Mailbox at Sofi
March 27th, 2008 · 1 Comment
Had never noticed this creative mailboxing at Sofi restaurant on 3rd street, but I like it. I’ve actually only been to Sofi twice, which serves up generous and tasty portions, the downside being the roving live music.

Have to say, I really like the jewelry collections Aero & Co. carries. Always very cool, not too pricey and make great gifts. These just in: Ankh by Racquel limited-edition Jackson Pollock Puzzle necklaces (previous post on Ankh here), earrings and bracelets, necklaces by Material Things by Guy Lovin.

Orlando Pueblo in Bloom
March 25th, 2008 · No Comments
I’m not a fan of the red rock with trash bags sticking out look at the Orlando Pueblo (Blackburn and Orlando), though I appreciate the fact that the owner of the condo complex goes with the desert-y climate they’re afforded rather than wasting water. The orange wild flowers currently in bloom are a huge improvement […]

A recent exclusive at Scent Bar on Beverly Boulevard, Safi, an eau de parfum based on lychee fruit. Sounds sweet and worth checking out.

Tasca’s Mini Outdoor Makeover
March 25th, 2008 · 1 Comment
I’m digging Tasca’s quickie makeover to their outdoor seating. Basically, the latest addition is the chandelier-like candelabras, but it’s a nice touch which further extends the restaurant outside.
