Fave sneaker purveyors Keep Company in Los Feliz have just launched a new site and blog, which I’m already into with only three entries. What I learned? They’ve got some sweet hand-dyed tees coming out in July; they’ve just moved Keep’s offices to an airy studio in Chinatown (though the boutique’s still on Hillhurst); and the peeps at Keep are big fans of The Wire, which makes me fans of Keep even more than I was before. Don’t think it would be possible to be more a fan of The Wire than I already am and have been since the airing of the very first episode (the husband and I in our one-bedroom off Sunset, McNulty on the stoop with the hopper). Just in case you didn’t watch the HBO five-season masterpiece, I suggest watching it all. Start at the beginning and be prepared to be entranced. I’m right there with you Keep - very, very sad that it’s over, but so glad it exists in the world.

Me and the other writers over at Highbrid Nation loved The Wire. Actually, one of our guys just did a post today talking about how important The Wire was to viewers as well as the cast.
I think The Wire is one of those shows that most people won’t truly get until years from now. 20 years from now people will look back on the Wire as one of the greatest shows ever created.
