BLACKBURN AND SWEETZER

A friend of mine turned me on to LA-based Belgian jewelry designer Catherine Michiels, who creates these nature-inspired pendants on washed silk ties and rings in sterling, 18kt, bronze and platinum with diamonds (meaning some are much more expensive than others). Michiels, who cut her teeth at Marie Claire and Elle and also happens to be a Reiki master, will also take your unused diamond and precious stone jewelry and make something new with it. Now, I don’t have a bunch of ‘unused diamonds’  around, but I bet you there are many women in this city that do.

These are a few of my faves: the fig (above), the zinnia flower with ‘love absent friends’ inscribed on the back (just below) and the lily de Paris ring (bottom).
