It was early 2008 when the eviction notices went up at Zen Grill, and just in the last week there’s been movement at the space. A sign has gone up for Penna San Giovanni LLC, which looks like an intimate Italian spot in the making. Late last week, it was painted white. Looking forward to seeing what develops.

That sounds great for that space. I hope the food is on par with Terroni.

[...] I ran into owners Carlo and Carlo, one of which was the manager at Ago for years. He said that it won’t be pricey like Ago, but “someplace where you can get a good glass of wine for $7 or $8, and there will be takeout, even pizza.” Basically, you’re supposed to be able to go out for the whole deal (salad, dinner, wine, dessert, etc) and get out of there for around $70 for two people. He wants people to come in a regular basis and doesn’t want it to be too cost prohibitive. He says they’ve been improving the space, and also included another restroom.
