Real Estates—1929 6th Street Duplex

So, I literally ran by this duplex yesterday at 6365 6th Street, near La Jolla. Though, of course, I’m always interested in homes, I am a renter and always have my eye out to see what apartments and duplexes are going for. For the husband and I, a three bedroom two bath duplex would be a major upgrade, but also a significant jump in rent. Friends or ours recently found just that on 6th street for $2,600, which seems like a steal of a deal.

THOUGHTS: The use of the milky green on the exterior and interior would not be my choice. That being said, this was one of those buildings that made me stop and think that could be really nice inside.

THE DEETS: Recently renovated 1929 building with upper and lower unit. Both units have large rooms, living room with fireplace, three bedrooms (of which two have two closets each), two full bathrooms, breakfast and laundry room, new stove, dishwasher and washer and dryer. Floors have been re-finished, there’s new plumbing and custom paint. There is a garage but apparently it’s difficult to get cars in so they’re selling it as storage area. Grassy backyard. Security system. Lower unit is 2,250 square feet and is renting for $3,300. Upper unit is 2,430 square feet and renting for $3,600 (this unit also comes with sleeping porch, loggia space—an open balcony, I had to look it up—off the living room, Hollywood Hills view and restored woodwork).

NOTES: Craigslist PostingID: 992197535. Absolutely no pets, smoking, and (this is odd) no home businesses. Must have good credit, good employment history and first month’s rent and a month’s security deposit.

A helpful grammatical hint…should be “for the husband and me”…not “for the husband and I”
