Thanks to Umamimart for the latest news that Cali-focused beer/sandwich/sausage/ice cream spot The Golden State at 426 North Fairfax Avenue is set to open [tentatively] Thursday, March 12!
Owner Jason Bernstein and James Starr have the restaurant’s site up now [James wants everyone to know it is a work in progress], including the menu [also a work in progress], which I’m very excited about from the spicy lamb sausage to the fingerling potato salad with apple wood smoked bacon to the burger with farm house cheddar, brown sugar bacon and wild arugula on brioche bun. Serious mmmm.
[Update on what will definitely be on the menu: the Let's Be Frank organic, grass-fed spicy dog; the Harris Ranch beef and Fiscalini Farmhouse cheddar burger with maple glazed bacon with wild arugula, housemade aioli and ketchup, cooked medium rare unless specified; Scoops Gelato; and beer from from Craftsman, Green Flash and Bear Republic.
Check the [work-in-progress] menu this way!
