I’ve mentioned my dream of the empty lots around the neighborhood becoming green spaces. Not that I’m blind to the fact that these spaces are owned by someone or some entity, which will probably throw up some blah to hideous edifice, but still…
The husband took these photos of the Community Garden in West Hollywood around San Vicente and Rosewood, a rather significant green oasis with flowers to oranges to varieties of leafy lettuce, which made me think that if Paul Koretz—who really hung his hat on what he did to create such a stellar city as West Hollywood—does make it to the City Council 5th District, maybe this can be on his ‘to do’ list.

Right now, I’m working on my backyard garden, but I plan to redo my front lawn this summer with herbs and wild flower, and some edible landscaping. Imagine if every residential and commercial property had real gardens, not just a planter or two. What a great walking neighborhood this would be!
