Have to say, I was pretty psyched about this, as the husband and I can never seem to keep enough light bulbs around: the LADWP just left two energy saving light bulbs (75-watt equivalents, which use only 20 watts), plus literature on the benefits of compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFL), among other tips to “save money, energy and help the environment,” as well as a color wheel-type contraption (without the colors) with ways to conserve water. Did you get your gratis bulbs today?

I saw the guy distributing them this morning. He left one on the gate to our parking area as well as the doorknobs, so I snagged that extra one on the way out!

    We got ours.

They keep raising the rates and then they turn around and produce and distribute this?

I understand that though that this sort of thing can go along way to educating people.

So I was surprised that it didn’t at least include information on the water restrictions such as only watering your lawn 2 days a week, I think it is. I see neighbors that continue to water their lawn every day.

Yeah, I could see how the rates would be more staggering for a homeowner for sure…

And I feel like people often don’t listen to the lawn watering restrictions. Growing up (in Wash State) people would do it super early in the morning as if no one’s going to notice when there lawn is the plushest green in a shortage…

These light bulbs are causing migraine headaches in many, many folks.

Please be aware of your health when you make the switch to these bulbs.

Just one of MANY Google links about it – http://www.switched.com/2008/01/02/compact-fluorescent-bulbs-causing-migraine-headaches/
