A Parsons (costume design) and Brown (art history) grad, who cut her teeth as the Creative Director for DVF (her mother-in-law) for a decade, Alexandra Von Furstenberg knew exactly what she wanted with her growing lifestyle brand, which, in its second collection, has expanded from furniture to include accessories as well: “I knew right away what the second collection would be…I wanted it to be totally distinguishable, for it to have that AVF flavor and feeling.”

That, it does. The nine-piece limited edition ‘Voltage‘ collection again utilizes the top-grade, glossy acrylic of her first collection—an edgy, eight-piece neon assortment “symbolic to pop art”—but takes on a bold sexiness in a darker palette of black, gray and taupe paired with smoke mirrors. The effect is beyond sleek with faceted edges creating dimension in monochromatic pieces.

Ranging from $1,200-$15,000 for furniture and accessories starting at $160, these creations are meant to be showcased, from trays to high-impact pieces such as the Bullet Cocktail Table (shown above, one of AVF’s favorites), which can be opened at the top, in order to display something special inside. “You could even do rose petals for an event,” Von Furstenberg suggests. Yes, I would like to be invited to that party.

More pieces from the AVF Voltage Collection…

Other AVF highlights? The Gangster Console Table (shown below, which weighs a whopping 300 pounds: “It’s perfectly simple and masterfully crafted.” Notably, all AVF pieces are manufactured locally.
