Angelino designers are the subject of the new designer series at Ron Robinson’s Fred Segal store on Melrose, and for the opening act JC Obando took the stage. On Saturday afternoon, the designer introduced his new hair care line ‘N. 4′ and also premiered a silk scarf from his first ever cruise collection, which will be released in June.
“The cruise collection will be a bit more casual than my other collections, lots of fun skirts and tops, but of course also refined and artful cocktail dresses,” Obando said.
His hair care collection—in beautifully designed bottles and containers—consists of twelve products and is just the beginning in the beauty department for the designer. “I’m interested in beauty, in all its facets. It’s not only the clothes that make a woman beautiful, hair, skin, and make-up are just as important. I want to create the whole picture,” the designer explains. The name derives from the four seasons, which all have different needs that have to be met, as well as the four ‘Liquid Complexes,’ that he uses in his products.

Collaborating with Juan Carlos Obando was jewelry designer Gabriela Artigas, who created a set of heavy silver-chain necklaces and bracelets for Obando, as well as presented excerpts from her regular collection.
