There are a number of reasons why I frequent Aero & Co. on West 3rd Street—first and foremost, there’s owner Alisa Loftin’s depth of knowledge of LA’s fashion landscape (and beyond) and her keen eye and support of indie designers, mostly local.

Case in point, Loftin is now stocking rings from May de Chelly, a label known for its drape-y, jersey dresses with ample sex appeal. Jewelry is a new offering from the line, hand-molded silver brushed with gold, ranging from $195-$359. (Note: more rings and also bracelets can be found at Some Odd Rubies a bit east down the street.) The modern rings—which have made a fan out of Erin Wasson, who bought one from Aero & Co.—have some serious heft and might be handy in a fist fight. No matter what, they’ll always make a statement.

And then there’s silver, brass and Swarovski Crystal necklaces and earrings from Parisian jewelry designer Aris Geldis, who—from what I can gather online—has collabed with Chanel, Ungaro Couture, Alexander McQueen for Givenchy Couture, and designs for Haute Couture of Christian Lacroix.

Aris Geldis creations this way…

The pieces, ranging from $68-$123 for earrings and $373-$573 for necklaces, have a vintage appeal, but are thoroughly modern with the matte-ness of the oxidized sterling silver. And though they might look heavy, even the biggest of all—the brass and Swarovski Crystal multi-ring fringe necklace, also my fave—is surprisingly light. Wear the simplest dress and all you need is this necklace.
