Today’s the day when Forever 21’s plus-size collection, Faith 21, hits stores and online, and based on the traffic I’ve received from the first post—many people Google searching, as well as links from Forever 21’s press page—this is a much-anticipated launch, filling a gap in the market, and not only for shoppers you would necessarily consider plus-size.
Though I shop at Forever 21 infrequently—I find it chaotic—I have found myself reaching for a large before and I’m generally a size 4 or 6, so what about someone who’s a size 10 or 12? They may need an XL, which Faith 21 provides.
The rest of the collection, where to get it!!

Currently, there are 30 pieces available online from XL-2X—T-shirts, tunics, dresses—ranging from $13.80-$27.80. Though there are a few items which don’t really work—a contrast brushstroke dress that wouldn’t be flattering on anyone, a paisley tunic that’s just plain drab—overall, it’s successful: T-shirts are cute; ruffly, lacy cap-sleeve blouses feminine and fluttery, while providing structure; and monochromatic or color-block tunics/dresses are particularly flattering.
Clearly, not everything is available online. Of special note is a summery white dress with poppy red flowers (shown very bottom left in the last trio of images) that is shown online, but not for purchase.
You’ll probably have to get to one of the stores for a more expansive offering, which for now in Cali is limited to Anaheim Plaza, Antelope Valley Mall, Calexico, Del Amo, Lakewood Center Mall, Montebello Town Center, Northridge Mall, and The Mall of Victor Valley, with more to come.
I can’t really imagine fast fashion brands based abroad entering into the plus size market—H&M, Topshop, Uniqlo—but if this foray is super successful, I guess you never know, especially in this economy. For the time being, I have a feeling Faith 21 will do very well.
