Country Club, a contemporary art gallery at 451 North Fairfax Avenue, in the former Alife space (which moved to Space 1520) and next to Hall of Fame, opens tonight for its first exhibitions: ‘New Age Riot,’ a group exhibit featuring artists Kamrooz Aram (NY), Beth Campbell (NY), Bob Flanagan (LA), Jack Goldstein (LA/NY), Jen Liu (NY), Larry Mantello (NY), Shana Moulton (NY), Manuel Ocampo (Manila), Lisa Raskin (NY), Sleep (NY), which, per Art Slant will “revisit the past and project the future to escape/analyze the present and/or intentionally create temporal, spatial, emotional and spiritual dislocation”; and ‘The Joy of Blues,’ featuring artists Barkley Hendricks (CT), Lee Ranaldo (NY), João Paulo Feliciano (Lisbon), which explores “sonic histories and the visual manifestations of sound.”
The opening reception is tonight, Thursday, May 14 from 6pm-9pm and runs through July 4. This also made DailyCandy’s weekend guide.
