This was a new one for the husband and I—we walked to Boraan at 9036 Burton Way , as I was having a Thai food craving Sunday night. It’s about a 20 minute walk from B+S; walk down West 3rd heading west, take a left on Robertson and then a right on Burton.

The decor is nice, contemporary/modern with Asian-influenced appointments. We ordered the shrimp and minced chicken steamed dumplings ($6.99) to start, and then shared the roasted duck in red chili-coconut curry (with chunks of pineapple and Thai basil, $14.99) and the standout of the dinner, the steam sole filet with lime chili and cilantro sauce ($15.99).

The bill, the couple that eats there every night…

The total bill was a bit more expensive than I’d expected (of course, adding glasses of wine ups the cost significantly), but I would return for the sole filet alone and skip starters.

One couple in particular came in, their meal already on the table; they ate in less than 15 minutes, shockingly fast and with much gusto, their silverware clanging. Apparently, they are serious fans of the place, literally eating at Boraan every night. The guy recommended a tofu dish on his way out.
