The Kira Plastinina saga continues. Parent company of the Russian fast fashion chain, LA-based KP Fashion Co., filed Chapter 7 liquidation and closed shop in the US, but then came back again under new Russia-based company Pink Square, the boutiques now dubbed K. Plastinina.
WWD reports the bankrupt KP Fashion Co. owed $54.4 million, and employees from one of the KP’s creditors, Tom Rectenwald Construction (which built eight Kira Plastinina shops) picketed the Robertson shop last Friday.
Aaron Rectenwald, a co-owner of the company, told the fashion trade “he organized the protests because Plastinina owes his firm $2.5 million,” and will continue efforts to get it back: “We haven’t gotten the attention of management yet so we’ll be coming back until we do.”
