So, I said I was going to have to try Joan’s on Third’s summer shrimp rolls, and on a 90-plus day last week I seized the moment—early evening, apartment still too hot and stomach rumbling. Not necessarily a foodie pairing, but a citrus slushie—a simple blend of fresh orange juice, lemonade and ice—was also in order. I think it’s the subtle sweetness of the noodles and the cilantro that really does it for me. The rolls come three per pack at $9, which, the husband and I shared. What would be really great is if I could buy one for a guiltless mid-day snack. Hint. Hint.
