Wow, so unusual for anything to open when it says it’s going to open, but Nordstrom Rack has opened right on time today at the Beverly Connection, and is doing very swift business I might add. The discount retailer joins others at the shopping center—Loehmann’s Men’s and Marshall’s, with Ross on its way.
I did a very quick run through, passing by the suited, headset-ed men out front, and found myriad men, women, young and old, shopping the circular racks and vast shoe area. Women’s labels include Milly, Betsey Johnson, Michael Kors, LAMB, William Rast and about a million others. There’s also an incredible number of employees (good someone’s hiring!). Will have to go back post-opening excitement fray to have a thorough look-see. Store hours are Mon-Sat 10am-9pm and Sun 11am-7pm. One thing’s for sure—discounts are on trend.

Stopped in today to check out it out. Having seen some signage on the Beverly Blvd side with underground parking – I was a surprised to see that the main entrance (and only entrance to-date) is where the old Ralphs entrance used to be – right off the main Beverly Connection parking lot. A sales clerk mentioned the Beverly Blvd side had parking and and entrance for employees only. Seems that they’ve only taken 1/2 the Ralphs space. If business on opening weekend is an indicator of the future – they may need to expand. It was very busy. Some great deals – 50-60% off TUMI luggage and lots of shoes for 50% of more off. Dressing room and cashier lines where long – but the abundant staff helped to keep everything running smoothly. Marshall’s was pretty quiet. With a Ross due to arrive perhaps the Beverly Connection will turn into the discount franchise destination the developers are shooting for – we’ll see….

I stopped in yesterday and was pretty disappointed. While there were a few cute items- mostly really small sizes like 2’s, most looked as if it were made for outlet clothes. The cosmetics were good. No children’s clothes. shoes were very out of date

I enjoy going to the rack. the only thing that gets me dissapointed is that they dont have a kids department. They should extended and add a kids department. But when I am there shopping for my self every one in the rack are supper supper nice. They help me find what I am looking for… but there is one girl in particular who I always go too when I am going to check out the rack. My favorite cashier is Anabel. She is very friendly, kind and have a pretty smile. From all the other racks I have been too, Anabel has always gave me 100% service Thats the way all racks should give… there is another particular guy who i enjoy his service is Dante. He works in the shoes department he is extremely helpful. The Beverly Connnection Rack may not have kids department but they have awsome service.
