Sjobeck debuted its spring 2010 collection Saturday night at Live! On Sunset. The invite-only soiree was decorated with over-sized beach balls while old surfing videos played on the flat screens. Celeb guests Lauren Conrad (so meticulously styled in person that she looks more ‘natural’ on TV) and Kyle Howard chatted with the designers before The Beach Toys took the stage to play some old-school jams by the sand-covered catwalk.

The contemporary mens- and womenswear collection repped its Malibu roots with a laid-back and airy collection of knits and denim. As always, Sjobeck presents easy-to-wear pieces ideal for the Cali-lifestyle in the form of maxi and sun dresses for woman, zip front collared shirts for men, and cozy T-shirts and sweaters for both sexes.

The line is absolutely practical and still entirely fun and playful; I’d wear nearly every piece in this collection. I had just gotten excited to wear my boots and sweaters this fall—leave it to Sjobeck to make me crave warm-weather fashion all over again.
