Yotam Solomon debuted his spring 2010 collection, ‘Shining Through,’ earlier this week, selecting a bungalow at Chateau Marmont as a setting for a private, non-traditional runway presentation. Guests lounged and snacked while lofty models in sky-high covered platform shoes paraded around the party. Constructed with silk duchess satin and jersey bamboo, the collection is detailed with custom glass-blown beads and gemstones.

A few pieces—like a black off-shoulder cocktail dress with gemstone details—could’ve benefited from better tailoring to the model, but, that aside, Solomon’s designs are repeatedly inventive and intricate. He finds uncommon solutions to achieve a subtle edginess that encapsulates a piece’s femininity, which results in something brave and sexy.

Yotam is the next top designer.

I wish somebody will discover him and see his great talent.

By now I have seen nearly all of these pieces at some event or another and each is stunning in its own way. The young designer impresses me more on every level with each encounter and I am eager to track his progress from season to season.

Wow, are you guys paid to say this? Because his stuff makes me want to puke glass and stab myself again, with the glass.
