I’m not sure when it happened, but men’s and women’s boutique YellowMan at 110 South Robertson Boulevard has closed. When people think of tattooed tigers prowling across T-shirts, Ed Hardy appears like a vision you can’t shake, but YellowMan founder Peter Mui was creating a ‘tattoo lifestyle’ before Christian Audigier with his brand of ‘wearable tattoo art,’ collabing with legitimately lauded tattoo artists around the world. While not my style, I can certainly appreciate the intricate designs, which can be seen (and purchased) on the brand’s site.
