Inside Petro Zillia boutique on West 3rd, from All the Rage
All the Rage has news that Petro Zillia designer Nony Tochterman has just launched rent-a-frock services through this month at her 8218 West 3rd Street boutique. This is a move in response to the economy Tochterman tells the blog: “When the going gets tough, the tough get creative…Besides, why should celebrities be the only ones able to get studio services for a special party, night or celebration?”
The minimum price is $50 for 24 hours, but fees are based on length of use of the dress (1-3 days) and its value ($300-$4,800). What’s filling the rental rack? “archive and one-of-a-kind pieces, along with a few basic party dresses. There’s a multicolored ribbon dance skirt, a short leather paillette tank dress, a pink party coat covered in vintage floral appliques, and a pink polka dot silk chiffon, fit-and-flare cocktail dress.” Fee includes dry cleaning taken care of by the boutique, but, of course, if you return with damages goods, you’ll have to pick up the tab.
