Last Saturday, I found myself up very early trying to get some not-fun errands done. After an unsuccessful attempt trying to get my wheels aligned, I stopped by recently-opened coffee shop Bricks & Scones at 403 North Larchmont Boulevard for a latte. While the drink was good, the baked goods made by owner Jinah Kim’s mother looked even more tempting. And beyond that, it’s really the space—clubby and quiet up- and downstairs with comfy chairs and couches and free wi-fi—that makes me wish I could pack this place up and move it to the neighborhood. The vaulted ceilings, sweeping drapes and diaphanous chandelier certainly also add to the appeal. So, accept this as another plea for an indie coffee shop to open up in convenient walking distance. Who’s on board? At the very least, the husband and I would be your loyal customers.
