Thanks to a B+S reader for tipping me that new Italian restaurant Della Terra is now open at 7675 Beverly Boulevard at Spaulding. Per staff, it soft opened last Saturday, and is currently serving dinner, but will also be serving lunch very soon. The interior is soft-lit, nice but casual, with lots of wood and stone and (I believe) a wood fire oven; the outdoor seating in front is pretty substantial. I took a cursory look at the menu and it looks mid-priced. Phone is 323-937-5243, per Yelp.

Judging from both the obvious glowing insider-planted review on Yelp – and the Yelper’s name, Amir – this is yet another generically-named, poorly-designed, non-Italian-owned strip mall quality eatery. Lots of local Beverly Hills money going to support a bunch of spoiled rich kids and their dreams of being the next Sam Nazarian by opening a restaurant. Of course they’ll never understand how little taste and class they have. This place will close in 2010.

“Dreams” I guess your “dreams” never happened and you have too much time on your hands and feel you need to tear down someone elses dream…Sad if you really think about it! When I come and visit L.A I will try to swing by and see this place, hopefully I can help out a bit rather then hate and bad mouth it without trying it out. Have a Happy New Year to you too.
