So, not an Italian restaurant as I’d previously heard from workers, but Thai coming to the former Celadon space at 7910 West 3rd Street , nearly to Fairfax. The beer and wine application says Thai Kitchen Concepts Inc and the business name is Rama, posted December 20. I would gladly welcome a good Thai place so close.

A little Google searching shows that Thai Kitchen Concepts & Rama are part of The Celadon Group. There is a Rama in San Diego as well. Looks like another potential upscale failure. People in LA won’t pay big money for Thai, Indian, or other ethnic restaurant offerings. We want excellent, small family-owned cheapo off-the-beaten-path strip-center joints like Jitlada. This will fail as usual. However, B+S, you’ll probably get your obligatory comped review meal out of it.

Just so you know, in my blogger capacity, no one’s ever offered me a comped meal to review their restaurant. I’m a paying customer just like everyone else…and thanks for the info on Thai Kitchen Concepts, for some reason when I Googled I didn’t come up with the Celadon Group.

Considering the history of that location, and the size of the space, it’s bound to be upscale. Hopefully they’ll have more success than the previous tenants.
