Looks from Tucker by Gaby Basora Resort 2009 collection
It kind of amazes me that I can still get a pitter-patter of excitement about the fast fashion collabs, but, what can I say, the news from Fashionista that Tucker designer Gaby Basora will be creating a collection for Target (part of its Go International collab program) makes my ticker skip a beat. I’ve long admired the pretty silk blouses in colorful prints that Basora’s become known for, but don’t make a habit of spending $250-$300 on a single blouse. In fact, I’ve never spent that much on a single blouse…
Basora has expanded her blouses into a full line of breezy and wearable dresses, rompers, pants, shorts, etc. that I also would love to slip in to. Per the fashion blog, “According to an inside source, the collection won’t include accessories, but there will be swimwear and bottoms,” also noting, “As for the blouses that are sure to take center stage, fabric’s more a concern here than with any past collaboration—there’s little left without the silk.”
As for the Target collab timeline, it is as follows:
March 7—Jean Paul Gaultier’s Designer Collaboration
March 14—Liberty of London (apparel and accessories for women, men, and children, plus decor, garden and storage/organization for the home)
April 18—Cynthia Vincent (footwear collection)
April 18—Eugenia Kim (hats)
April 25—Zac Posen’s Go International collection
Fashionista surmises “Tucker’s collection should hit stores mid-summer.”

I crave Tucker blouses, too! But it’s true…if they’re not silk, never mind.

What is nice about Basora is how the fabric flows. I don’t get Basora without silk either. Just another regular blouse
