Children’s boutique Eggy at 8365 West 3rd Street is getting ready to open this Thursday, February 4. Owner Jenny An, who launched the Eggy online boutique a year and a half ago, says she’s always planned on opening a brick and mortar: “It’s been a dream of mine. My mom’s had a women’s shop, Ann Ahn, on Madison Avenue in New York for more than 20 years. Initially, I thought I would open a west coast version of her boutique, but then I got pregnant and everything changed, I started paying attention to the kids market and loving it.”

The windows are already adorably merchandised

Eggy carries clothing, toys and more for newborns to six years old. The merch is modern, the racks an array of neutral hues, a nice switch from the traditional primary colors of kids clothes. Look for a range in price points too, from $30 for basics to $150-$200 for a fancier party dress.

There’s also a play area toward the back of the shop, which is coming together. And the door is even kid friendly, one of those Dutch doors, where the top half opens. An searched from Silver Lake to Montana Avenue to Beverly Hills for a space, but after a long look eventually settled on West 3rd: “It’s really my favorite area in LA.” Hours are Mon-Fri 10:30am-7pm, Sat 11am-6pm, Sun 12pm-5pm
