Hadn’t noticed this before on Beverly Boulevard, C Geller Pillows and Etc - not sure what kind of pillow-related etc they sell but they certainly have the pillows covered…

New Sweetzer Apartments Offer Generic Hotel Room-Like Luxury for $$$
November 5th, 2007 · 2 Comments
Well, I’m psyched to have the sidewalk back on the west side of the street on Sweetzer, just north of 3rd, but can’t say I’m so impressed with the new apartments which line the street. The stats are below - 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, plus a whole lot of touting going on. It’s elegant! [...]

Silver Lake’s A+R Opens Second Store On Abbot Kinney
November 2nd, 2007 · No Comments
I posted about A+R opening in Venice back in August. Well, the day has arrived. The bigger boutique, filled with even more design finds from across the globe, is opening tonight on Abbot Kinney. Definitely a significant contribution to the tony stretch, as well as to the LA design store community.
Cool-Ass DWR Sled
October 25th, 2007 · No Comments
OK, not that you’ll need a sled in LA, especially when it’s in the 90s, in late-October no less, but this Peak Sled ($390, dwr.com) is pretty damn cool. The wood and webbing combo is always winning in my opinion.

Kittypod, Exceptional Design + Feline Cuteness
October 18th, 2007 · 1 Comment
As you likely know, I have great affection for the kitties. Artist Elizabeth Paige Smith is the creator of Kittypod, a line of genius corrugated cardboard beds/scratching posts/loungers ($30-$320) for your feline that also look spectacular in the same room as your Danish sideboard or set below your favorite painting. The designs are clean and [...]
Wristband, Entrance to a Different Kind of Party
September 28th, 2007 · 2 Comments
This is the sound of me typing one-handed*, having spent yesterday afternoon in the Cedars-Sinai emergency room with a bloody hand. I’m not sure how it happened, but some China fell, must have hit something because it was already broken midair, I put out my hand to catch it and a broken edge sliced into [...]

Book and House Envy, ‘Case Study Houses’ by Taschen
September 21st, 2007 · No Comments
For a second there I got so excited by an email from Taschen, promoting its Case Study Houses hardcover edition… until I realized it’s $200. The book that induces serious home envy has now induced even greater envy for the book itself, since, hey, $200 for a book might be a lot, but it’s a [...]

Collision Kit, Crash and Learn
August 23rd, 2007 · No Comments
Granted, I’ve lived in L.A. for quite some time, but I’ve been rear-ended more times than I can remember, including one time when me and the husband - in our trusty Civic - were hit by a 70-year-old woman driving a Hummer! And not the smaller Hummer, the full-size monster. No matter how many times [...]
Cozi Couch: It’s Washable Luxury
August 21st, 2007 · No Comments
Or, at least that’s what the Cozi Couch folks call it… Cozi Couch has opened up at 3rd Street and Edinburgh Avenue, across from Mitchell Gold, taking the place of another completely forgettable furniture store. Remember, with all the bookcases and cabinets out front? Cozi Couch’s site isn’t working at the moment, but you can [...]

Chantal Cookware Clearance
August 15th, 2007 · No Comments
If you cook - and I’m not talking about heating up Whole Foods in the microwave - but if you really need great cookware at decent prices, Chantal is great even at full retail. At up to 70% off, it’s an incredible steal. Right now Chantal is having a big ol’ clearance sale; it’s kind [...]
Fatboy Takes to Lounging Outside
August 14th, 2007 · No Comments
I’ve never felt too keen on having a Fatboy lounger in anything but a very casual space indoors, like a game room if I had a game room. Outside is a different matter. I would love to hang out reading a book, lazing in the sun by the pool, with Fatboy’s outdoor version ($349, designpublic.com). [...]
