Blackburn + Sweetzer Has Moved

While I haven’t yet had a chance to explore (I happened by on a Sunday), new flower, art and tea shop/salon Marcelita L’Art et Le Thé is now open in the former Zipper space at 8316 West 3rd Street. Open Mon-Sat 10am-7pm, I’m intrigued by a blooming bicycle perched inside.

Lifestyle shop Zipper closed back in February, and all’s been quiet at the expansive 8316 West 3rd Street space. At some point recently, the ‘for lease’ sign came down, and I’ve heard reports of interior painting in the works. Has anyone heard anything about what’s to come?

I caught up with Victoria Kray (left) and Maggie Wachsberger (right), who hosted a party last night to inaugurate Malgosia as the new Modern Sage, a purveyor of conscious fashion. “It has to be eco-friendly, sustainable, handmade, or small production, and not from China,” says Kray, owner Wachsberger’s right-hand at the boutique.

As previously reported, Zipper at 8316 West 3rd Street will be closing February 28 after 15 years at the location, consolidating to its Sonoma outpost, which opened a year and a half ago, and online.
